A Little Pause at The Bakehouse Texas

The Bakehouse Texas is a monthly pop-up bakery from Joy the Baker, baked straight from her garage workshop and backyard cottage kitchen in Bellville, Texas. It’s a small-town, small-batch bakery built on the simple joy of sharing something homemade and sweet.

As many of you know, life has been baking up something extra special over here. Joy and Will are expecting their first child this spring, and with that comes a season of slowing down, nesting, and learning the ropes of early parenthood (pray for them). After our February popup, The Bakehouse Texas will be closing its doors for a few months while we soak in this next chapter.

We’re planning to reopen the first Saturday of September — Saturday, September 5th — with our signature Bakery Boxes, Bakehouse Texas Chocolate Chip Cookies, tender buttermilk biscuits, an expanded offering of horse and dog treats, and (because why not dream big) a coffee cart to keep everyone well-caffeinated and lingering a little longer.

This is very much a pause, not a goodbye. We haven’t stopped scheming, dreaming, or recipe testing and we cannot wait to welcome you back later this year.

In the meantime, if you find yourself needing a dozen chocolate chip cookies or a big batch of biscuits for a local event, feel free to reach out to Joy directly at joy@joythebaker.com. We can’t promise everything, but we’ll do my best to accommodate local custom orders when possible.
